That dream found its greatest expression in the Leila C. Saad SABIS® School El-Metn, the only completely free private school in Lebanon. Through this extraordinary institution, thousands of children have been given opportunities that might otherwise have remained beyond their reach, a living testament to her commitment to equity, dignity, and hope.

A Life of Vision, Compassion, and Lasting Impact
Leila Baddoura was born in Lebanon to parents who set high expectations and encouraged academic achievement.
Attended the American School for Girls, one of Lebanon's leading schools for girls.
Continued her education at the American Junior College for Women (now Lebanese American University).
Earned an Associate of Arts degree and was elected President of the Student Council, demonstrating early leadership abilities.

Married Charles Saad, becoming part of the Saad family.
Began working at the National College of Choueifat as a substitute teacher.
Developed a passion for education and gradually assumed greater responsibilities within the school.
Appointed Director of ISC-Choueifat.
Began a close professional partnership with Ralph Bistany, who served as Assistant Director. Their collaboration would continue for decades.
Pursued higher education while balancing school leadership responsibilities and public duties as the spouse of a member of parliament.
Earned a BA in English Literature and Pedagogy and a Teaching Diploma from the American University of Beirut.
With the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, emerged as a key leader in keeping the National College of Choueifat (now ISC-Choueifat) operational despite escalating violence and repeated shelling.
Supported the establishment of the first SABIS® school in Sharjah, UAE, helping provide personnel, educational materials, and supplies despite Lebanon's instability.
Following the death of her husband, Charles Saad, becomes the principal of the school.
Faced major challenges during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon.
Managed daily operations amid the escalating Mountain War.
After a direct hit near the boys' cafeteria, made the difficult decision to close the Choueifat campus and relocate operations temporarily to Beirut.
Led the institution during a nine-year period of exile from its historic Choueifat campus.
Worked relentlessly toward rebuilding and reopening the mother school.
Oversaw rapid international expansion, including schools in: United Arab Emirates (multiple campuses), Bath, United Kingdom, and Minnesota, United States of America.
Traveled extensively despite personal risks, including violence, kidnappings, and active conflict zones.
Successfully rebuilt and reopened the Choueifat mother school, restoring a campus that had been devastated by war.
Continued shaping SABIS® into a global educational network while mentoring generations of educators and leaders.
Realized a lifelong ambition by establishing the SABIS® Metn School, later renamed the Leila C. Saad SABIS® School El-Metn in her honor. A tuition-free institution serving underprivileged children.
